House Minding - A Lifestyle Choice For Mature Travelers

There was a time when travelling and crashing on someone's couch was a way of life for the adventurous backpacker.

Lazy summers with a VW and a surfboard on top was the idilic life glossed by many travel mags. Nowadays as middle age has creeped in the travel bug hasn't dissapeared but the style of traveling has somewhat changed. I'm not giving into the age old saying that the mind is willing but the body is not able any time soon.

Over the last few years we've been fortunate to have had the pleasure of playing hosts to the backpacker set and have met some incredible youngsters with that same carefree wondourus spirit that we had all those years ago and it's that same spirit that still churns deep inside us to venture fourth once more.

Now with social media at our fingertips the whole world is opening up to the mature traveller in a way never explored by any previous generation. The art of "House Minding" gives those with limited funds in their retirement, a holiday in a dream destination, or (as in the case with us) an opportunity to see the world and still be able to contribute to the owners daily chores and dialy activities.

This trading accomodation for "looking after the house, pets, etc" is now a global phenomonon that is commonplace and seems to have a large following throughout the world.

Couples like ourselves are taking great joy in living in the cities and suburbs alike in foreign lands and locally here in Australia.
